The Quick series is a Chin set counter within the Princeton offense. This series is good to execute against teams that try to take away the scoring options via the backdoor cuts.

The action begins in normal Chin but only one quick pass is made initially. Additionally, X5 is sagging in the lane to prevent the score via the backdoor cut.

1 passes to 4 and takes the back screen set by 5 going to the opposite corner.

5 immediately screens for 4 near the left slot.

4 takes the screen looking to attack the basket.

At the same time, 5 rolls to the basket, 2 fills up to the left slot, and 1 fills behind to the left side wing.

4 can score at the rim or pass to 5 if that is available.

5 also goes near the right post block if the ball was not passed inside.

Quick 1, Part 3 – Transition Into Low

Part 3 - Transition Into Low | Princeton Offense - Chin Counter : Quick Series

From here, the Quick series transitions into Low if no options were available for 4.

4 passes to 3 on the wing and cuts through to the opposite corner.

3 can pass inside to 5 who looks to score through low post moves.

Quick 2, Part 1 – Initial Set Up

This action involves two quick passes and is disguised as normal Chin but features a high ball screen for the wing. Additionally, X5 is once again sagging in the paint to defend the backdoor cut.

1 passes to 4 and on that pass, 5 comes up to set the back screen for 1.

4 reverses the ball to 2 and at the same time, 1 comes off the screen towards the corner on ball side.

Quick 2, Part 2 – Flare Screen

At this point, the action is different from normal Chin.

5 goes to set an on ball screen for 2.

2 comes off that screen looking to drive to the basket or pass to 5 who rolled to the rim after the screen.

At the same time, 1 is filling up to replace the wing area previously occupied by 2.

2 can reverse the ball back out to 1 on the wing if no scoring options are available.

As that reversal pass occurs, 3 fills the right side slot and 4 replaces the right side wing that was just vacated by 3.

5 also steps out of the lane and establishes position on the left side low post block while 2 fills the left slot.

From here, the offense can transition into Low as before.

In this example, 1 dumps the ball inside to 5 who can attempt to score via low post moves.
